Biography of Houston Faux Finish Artist
Even as a child, the allure of art was all too much for me. I would sit with my mother, a deeply religious woman, and look on as she read from a rather large, illustrated Bible. Her sweet voice dulled the outside world and allowed the artist within to sit in awe of the heavenly depictions before him. The images were powerful in my mind; the lines and colors beautiful and invigorating. It was then that I began my love affair with art.
This love was nurtured and explored in the bustling city of Monterrey, Mexico, my hometown. The hills secluded my Sultana del Norte (Lady of the North) and allowed a vibrant culture to emerge. The arts are the very pulse of that city, a beat I indulged in often.
Some years later, I left for the States and honed my skills. I studied, on my own, all the great Masters: Da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Botticelli to name but a few. As my confidence soared, I began marketing myself and have since developed a successful business, Robert Gutierrez Inc., devoted to my art.
It has been my pleasure turning houses into homes. Every brush stoke I make, every color or design I choose, is a bit of my passion spilling over into your world.
